Reasons to why jewellery tarnishes?

Tarnish is generated by a reaction with Sulphur, which is present in the air. When tarnished metal becomes exposed, it turns a gloomy grey-black tone.

Exposure to the air, atmosphere, fragrances, moisturisers, hairspray, soaps, and perspiration, among other things, causes all metals to tarnish. These are unavoidable, therefore cleaning your jewellery on a regular basis can help keep it looking new.

Simple ways to keep your jewellery young!

• Because your jewellery is not a water baby,  keep your jewellery away from water.

• Do not workout with the jewellery on as the sweat can harm the good looks of your beautiful jewellery! 

• Don't put it in the sun or bleach it! You may want to flaunt your jewellery on the beach, but direct sunshine, sand, and salt water will do it no favours; reserve it for later, when you're enjoying drinks.

• Last but not least, wear your jewellery after applying make-up, perfume, and hairspray to minimise unwanted interaction with these chemicals
